It has once again been a hundred years since my last post and about a thousand things have changed since then. Quick resume: after 8 months in Paris, I returned back to Vancouver Island where it was time to embark on a new adventure.

In July 2018 I purchased my first property; not just any property but a fourplex in need of a major face-lift so I have been getting to grips with power tools, building materials, paint colours, and interior design ideas ever since.  I’ve switched my love of travel for design blogs and online furniture shopping sites.

I can’t believe how much has changed since this time last year. I’ve learnt about rental law in BC and become a small-time landlord. Most evenings are taken up with DIY and with the help of family I have renovated two rental apartments and am working on making my own space a beautiful home.  Hopefully by the end of summer, one year since purchasing, I’ll have finished the interior of all four units and am looking forward to doing some short-term holiday lets while I find my future neighbours and tenants.
