Touring And Tribulations
20 – 26th February 2012
Having been lucky enough to receive a few items in the mailbox this week it was a little tricky to decide what to pick but I finally settled upon correspondence from Vika R. because it had everything that great snail mail should: A large serving of good old fashioned gossip and stories to keep me entertained as well as this striking postcard of the Kiyevskaya-Koltsevaya metro station in Russia. I like intriguing postcards which don’t show off the typical tourist attractions but rather the secret wonders from around the globe; and it’s given me the curious urge to take a tour around Moscow’s metro stations.
Previous picks:
The view from the Palais de Chaillot sent by Taf D. because it was a lovely surprise and an interesting vantage point of what would otherwise be a very usual snapshot of a tourist hotspot.
Gemika L. for her card sent from Jaen. Chosen because the hidden gem of the card is in the background – the Castillo de Santa Cataluna.
For a colourful, pretty card filled with all the kinds of exciting news that only a true friend could send, Emily P. Also because this is the second card I have received from her which depicts smarties on the front and I do always appreciate chocolate!
